Casting Breakdown:
Jordan (female lead) – early to mid-twenties, female, attractive punk rock chick. Works as a bartender, and recently went through a difficult break-up with her boyfriend. Jordan is the kind of girl that comes from a house with all older brothers. She is solid. While younger than the man she falls in love with, she is the sort of person whose decisions an audience would accept. She is secretly is looking for inspiration in her life. She has hidden desires to be a clothing designer, but isn't quite at peace with her choices in life.
Tasha - late teens to early twenties, female, Tasha has been without her father most of her life, and has no siblings, leaving her in the care of her over-achieving mother. Is desperately in search of a father figure, but is afraid of being hurt by him because of the things her mother has told her. Similar to Jordan in that she wears a tough exterior to hide real vulnerability.
David - 60, male, salesman. Loves the sale, and doesn't mind the dirty reputation. In fact, he is long over it. Works to buy his wife everything she wants, but is still missing the spark, which is what drives him to an extra-marital affair. He is smart and enjoys a good time, but also sees in Jerry that at a formative time in his mid-life, he missed taking some risks that he regrets.
Dana - 50, female, powerful career woman. Has spent her life working for men in a largely chauvinistic profession. Fights to be called their equal, and is, at time, harder than she actually needs to be. But she also cares deeply about the company she works for, and will go to great lengths not to endanger it.
Troy - 40, male, salesman. The reason no one likes salesmen. He is greasy and chauvinistic (but not a caricature), and loves himself more than anyone else does. Thinks that he just gets better with age, when in fact, he simply becomes more obnoxious.
Slim - 22-25, male, punk rock kid. Sings in a group and is the tortured soul artist among the members. Was recently dumped by Jordan and has taken it very hard. Has resorted to ridiculous measures to woo her back. Views Jerry as a competitor for Jordan's affections, and this brings out his most mischievous side.
Chaz - 22 - 25, male, punk rock kid. Owns a record store, likes most music but is currently in a punk trend, and is part of a band mostly because it is something to do and his friends are involved. Is a flirt and a party-guy and is most open to sharing his musical tastes with new parties (i.e. Jerry).
Zeb - 22 - 25, male, punk rock kid. The strong silent type. Only speaks when he has something profound to say. Takes himself far too seriously, which makes other people unsure about him. If Chaz is the heart and Slim is the soul, then Zeb is the brain.
Riko - 20-25, female. Jerry's neighbor, Japanese, possibly lesbian. Her grandmother Miko is frustrated by Riko's lack of dating life, and regularly attempts to match Riko and Jerry, despite the age difference. and Riko finds herself dragged along. She makes the best of it, though, approaching each encounter with humor and a good sense of self.
